How it started
I got married at 22. By 23 it was over. A year and a half, start to finish. The relationship was bad early on, but I didn't see it at the time. I just felt like I was slowly disappearing. Smaller every month, less sure of what I actually wanted.
After the divorce I moved back in with my parents and got a retail job I didn't care about. Most nights I'd sit on the couch and just scroll my phone until it was late enough to go to bed. If you'd asked me what I liked, what I was good at, what kind of life I wanted, I wouldn't have had an answer for any of it. The marriage had kind of worn all that away.
My friend Sarah kept telling me to "look into my numbers." I thought she meant budgeting. She meant numerology. I rolled my eyes the first few times. Eventually I was bored enough and low enough to try it.
I looked up how to calculate a life path number. Did the math. Read the description. And I just sat there for a while. It wasn't vague horoscope stuff. It described a pattern I'd been living out without ever naming it. My soul urge number basically spelled out the thing I'd been suppressing for the whole marriage. My expression number pointed at strengths I'd completely forgotten I had.
I didn't convert overnight. But I got curious, and that was the first time I'd felt curious about anything in months.
What the numbers did for me
I started reading everything I could find about Pythagorean numerology. Not as a hobby. I wanted to understand what was going on with me. The more I learned, the more things clicked. Like why I kept taking jobs that looked good on paper but made me miserable. Or why certain friendships felt draining from day one.
The numbers didn't fix my life. But they gave me a way to look at myself that didn't feel like therapy or self-help or someone listing what was wrong with me. More like, "here's the pattern. Now what do you want to do about it?"
Over the next couple of years, things got better. I quit the retail job, stopped saying yes to people who made me feel small, slowly stopped second-guessing every decision. The numbers didn't give me confidence. They just helped me remember who I was before I lost track of it.
Fifteen years later
That was fifteen years ago. I'm 38 now. Somewhere along the way I became the person friends call when they're going through something and can't figure out why they keep ending up in the same spot. I've done charts for friends, coworkers, my mom's book club. The reaction is almost always the same. Someone looks at their numbers, goes quiet, and says "wait, that's... yeah. That's it."
I built this site because most numerology content online is either so vague it could apply to anyone, or so dressed up in mysticism it's hard to take seriously. I wanted something I would've found useful at 23, sitting on my parents' couch, wondering what was wrong with me. Something free that actually explains the system.
Nothing was wrong with me. I just didn't know myself yet.
⬥ What you'll find here
Every guide on this site uses the Pythagorean system, the most widely practiced approach in Western numerology. The content covers:
⬥ How I write about numerology
I don't do predictions. Numerology isn't fortune-telling, at least not how I use it. Your numbers describe patterns and tendencies. They don't tell you what's going to happen. You still get to decide that part.
Everything on this site is written the way I'd explain it if you asked me about it over coffee. I try to be honest about what the numbers suggest, including the parts that aren't flattering. If a number has a difficult side, I'll say so. I'll also tell you what to do about it, because there's always something you can do.
I also try not to make any of this more mystical than it needs to be. The subject is interesting enough without dressing it up.
⬥ Want your numbers applied to you specifically?
The guides here explain how numerology works in general. If you want your specific numbers calculated and interpreted for you, I'd point you to Numerologist.com. They've been around since 1999 and they do a free personalized video reading based on your name and birth date. It's what I tell friends to try when they want something more personal than a general guide.
Full transparency: I'm an affiliate, which means I earn a commission if you purchase a paid report after the free reading. The free video itself costs nothing. And I wouldn't recommend something I haven't used myself.
